15th Day-

"So hum, So hum, So hum…… I am that, I am that, I am that…… We will continue with the mantra today. But we will add a new element to the process.

Sit comfortably, making sure your back is straight and put your hands comfortably in your lap. Hold your left palm in your right palm, both palms facing toward the sky. Let the thumbs gently touch each other. Try not to move your body during the process. Observe your breath as you are breathing in and as you are breathing out for 5 breaths.. Then as you breathe in mentally say “so” and as you breathe out mentally say “hum.” Create a space between your inhalation and your exhalation. Pause only between “so” and “hum”. Be aware of that space and let the mantra flow around it. Allow yourself to get lost in the process. Flow with the experience without any expectations. Release the mantra when it naturally happens. Stay there, in your stillness. When ready to open your eyes, do so gently and softly.

In this pause, space is created and stillness happens….

We will continue with the mantra today. As mentioned yesterday: A mantra is a technique which helps you to take your mind to quieter levels. We will be repeating “so hum”. “So hum” is a reflection of the sound of breath. In addition, it carries a very deep, contemplative meaning - “I am that”. “That” being creation, the universe, the source. Let’s repeat what we did yesterday. Please don’t try to replicate what you experienced yesterday. Today your stillness will give you a new experience….

Our stillness… Our stillness is where we get to know who we are without all our titles. Our stillness is ours and always with us. Our stillness gives us inner peace. It is there, in that stillness, that the body becomes light and unencumbered. Let’s make space today to further develop our relationship with our stillness.

Take your breaths in the same way you having been taking them and put your hands comfortably in your lap. Hold your left palm in your right palm, both palms facing toward the sky. It is said that it takes 21 days to form a habit. Well, we are over half way to making “creating space” a habit. We are creating a mental and physical shift that will lead us to the peace this journey is taking us to. The more we observe the process, our thoughts and events around us, the easier is will become to flow without trying to control. That will set up the stage for our relationship with our stillness.

Take your breaths in the same way you having been taking them and put your hands comfortably in your lap. Hold your left palm in your right palm, both palms facing toward the sky. Feel what that space gives you. Release all expectations and flow with what the experience gives you… Stay there, in your stillness. When ready to open your eyes, do so gently and softly.

Observation and flow… These two components are the basis for reaching a place of equanimity and balance. Why would these be related? In observing, we learn not to take the events of the world around us personally. In flowing, we allow our life to shift and shape according to what is happening in the present. In being in the present, we don’t yearn for the past or fret for the future, but rather we are an integral part of that present moment. And since we don’t take anything personally, we accept that events are just what they need to be for each of us at any given moment in time. With that in mind, peace can start taking a different form. A deeper acceptance of that which we observe, gifts us a deeper state of relaxation and hence healing. Let the breath help you learn this; a shift in perspective. Now have a seat and make space for yourself.

In this state of relaxation is where the body is able to heal. Give yourself the space to heal….

Ease yourself into a state of relaxation and gratitude. In that gratitude you will find what you need at this moment in time.

Peace is about giving ourselves what we need. Before we can give to others, we have to be able to have nurtured ourselves so that we are full, and from that fullness we can share. Otherwise, what may happen is that we attempt to give that which we don’t have. It leaves us in a state of uncertainty and loss. Observe the richness of what we have- The breath, our life source. In getting to know that, we can go deep within to know all that we are and are not. We get to now how rich we are. We can thrive in a state of abundance, equanimity, love and observe life’s changes from that state. Observing our buckets being filled one beautiful drop at a time, enjoying the process.

Observe your breath as you are breathing in and as you are breathing out. Deliberately create a space between each inhalation and exhalation. Observe the space between each breath in and each breath out. Pause and take a moment to experience the fullness of the inhalation, and pause and take a moment to experience each exhalation. Feel what that space gives you. Release all expectations and flow with what the experience gives you… Stay there as long as you’re comfortable. One minute, two minutes, 10 minutes, stay with the experience. When ready to open your eyes, do so gently and softly.

It’s a very personal experience. There is no wrong or right way. It just is…

Ease yourself into a state of relaxation and gratitude. You are exactly where you need to be at this moment in time.
